About B & C Communications

B & C Communications is an Ohio corporation that was formed in November 1963 in Washington Court House, Ohio as an authorized Motorola Service Station.  In concert with Motorola’s desire to expand their service commitment in the Columbus, Ohio area, we opened a second facility in Columbus in 1974.  In 1978 we purchased the existing Motorola Service Shop in Akron, Ohio and shortly thereafter did the same in Canton, Ohio.  In 1993 we opened a new facility in Chillicothe, Ohio and relocated the operations from Washington Court House.  In 1995 we purchased the service operations of Motorola in Ashland, KY, and in November of 1995 we opened a facility in Cleveland, Ohio.  This comprises our present facilities and service area.

The company’s CEO is Tom Harb, President is Leland Haydon, Vice President/General Manager is Bill Webb and Vice President/Sales Manager is Steve Stauch.

The company currently has 69 employees, including the officers.  We have a manager at each facility, with the balance of employees comprised in the following categories:  administrative personnel, technical staff, installation staff and sales consultants.

Our service area consists of 31 counties in the State of Ohio, 8 counties in Kentucky and 4 counties in West Virginia.  We provide sales and service support to the construction and service industry, manufacturing, education, agriculture and numerous state, county and local government entities.

Each of our facilities is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art test equipment and service aids.  Our technical service staff averages over 15 years of experience in two-way radio service.  With a fleet of 22 fully equipped service vans and 10 installation vehicles, we can provide complete field support as well as 24 hour/7 day response via an on-call technician at each facility.

The diverse customer base has given our staff exposure to a wide variety of equipment and customer requirements.  Our experience level with installation and maintenance covers Motorola products such as Gold Elite consoles, Moscad, Mobile Data, Analog & Astro Digital trunking systems and Canopy.  Other product experience includes Whelen outdoor warning sirens, Zetron dispatch consoles, Data Radio mobile data systems and Montgomery Technology computerized door control systems.

We are a full line Motorola authorized two-way radio dealer and have been a reseller of their products since 1988.  We also resell mobile data, automatic vehicle location and safety products equipment which provides enhancements to the two-way radio user.  Our high volume parts purchasing allows us to pass on considerable savings to our customers purchasing batteries, accessories, antennas, etc. We currently have 9 sales people providing equipment solutions to our customers needs.  Our continued technical, installation and sales training assures our customers of experienced, fast, dependable service and the lastest innovations in communication solutions.

Each facility is on line with a  main computer in Columbus that provides us with the capability to track work tickets, parts usage, inventory and customer contract information.  All our invoicing is done by computer and it provides us with numerous management reports.
